Session 1A: Laying the Foundation: Using the NY Curriculum Modules as a Foundation for CCSS-aligned Instruction
This session is for participants who have never taught, presented on, or observed the implementation of the 9-12 ELA Curriculum modules. The purpose of this session is to learn how to use the structure and content of the NY ELA curriculum modules as an example of CCSS-aligned curriculum and a foundation for powerful instruction. Participants will be able to:
- Identify the key structures and design features that form this foundation
- Explain how the curriculum modules reflect (and support teachers to implement) the instructional shifts.
