HSE Social Studies: Lesson Plan 1

students in lecture hall

In this lesson, students look at contemporary and historic maps to "visualize" colonization.  They then look at a map of the New England, Middle and Southern colonies, learning about the economies of each.  Discussion of economics leads to the writing of a short constructed response to articles that express two opposing viewpoints on whether people, in general, care too much about money.  A final mini-lesson engages students in learning about the requirements of a sentence.
